Two Na Muang waterfalls are the islands most stunning and famous in Koh Samui. Na Muang in Thai word refers to the massive purple rocks that create the waterfalls. Nammuang waterfalls are located further west of Laem Srt about half way between Lamia and Nathon and just of the ring road to the north.
It is easily assessable by walking a short over the rocks and tree roots under a jungle canopy of diffused light. The turn-off is 10 km south of Nathong is more scenic and somewhat less frequented. A songthaew from Nathong should also be about 50 bath and you can hire from Chaweng and Lamai beaches to Namung falls. Here are two Namuang falls that are the most scenic on the island.
Na Muang 1
This large scenic falls is about 11 km. to the south of Na Thon and flows from a steep cliff about 40 metres high and 20 metres wide. Its large pool below is inviting but visitors should be careful about the numerous boulders underwater. Elephant back riding may be provided by nearby tour agents.
Na Muang 2
Just 100 metres from Na Muang 1, you can reach at Na Muang 2 that is comparable with its sister in beauty and size but less frequented. The area is ideal for trekking and elephant back riding as there is surrounded with forest.
Both Na Muang 1 and 2 are very beautiful natural waterfalls that you should not miss.
