Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in the Northern of Thailand. It is surrounded by a ring of mountains and has weathered seven hundred years of fascinating history.  Chiang Mai has its own very distinctive culture, arts, festivals, and traditions as well as an exciting mix of local, ethnic as well as expatriate communities from all over the world.  It has been voted one of the top destinations to live in Asia and is a modern and cosmopolitan city, while not having lost its traditional old charm. 

There are three main season in Chiang Mai; cool, rainy and summer average 21-30C. 
80 % of people were born here and thier dialect is slightly different from the central Thai language. Majority of people are Buddhist. 

A number of activities tourism are available such as elephant riding, cookery schools, temple tours, exploring national parks, shopping and of course sampling the finest in the north of Thai cuisine. Chiang Mai has beautiful mountains, valleys and scenery: hills, mountain streams, lakes, field, waterfalls, caves, hill tribe villages, orchid, butterfly farms, elephant camps and trekking tour and river rafting expedition.   Moreover, Chiang Mai’s tree-lined streets, stunning temples, historic sites, bustling markets and varied nightlife make it not one of the nicest cities in Thailand to visit, but also one of the livable.

Nowadays, Chiang Mai becomes an increasingly modern city and although it lacks the cosmopolitan nature of Bangkok, it has many attractions for thousands of foreign visitors who come each year.
