Nakon Si Thammarat

Nakhon Si Tharnmarat, 780 kilometres south of Bangkok, is an ancient city, home of the historically important Wat Phra Maha That, and is the major centre of southern Thai handicrafts such as black and gold neilloware, yan lipao basketry and intricate shadow-play figures. Nakhon Si Thammarat, the southern land of predominant Buddhism during the Srivijaya Period, claims to have the most number of temples in the country. Besides its great history, Nakhon Si Thammarat also boasts its luscious scenery, calm and picturesque beaches and stunning waterfalls.
